Real estate, estate planning, and business law are the focal points of Michael J. Overson’s law practice.  As a member of the Real Estate Section of the Virginia State Bar, Mr. Overson has experience representing clients in a wide variety of real estate matters, including purchases, sales, easements, leases, boundary line adjustments, and related litigation.  A substantial part of Mr. Overson’s practice involves the representation of landlords and tenants in eviction proceedings and other lease disputes.

 

In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Overson advises clients on estate planning and taxation issues, and regularly assists clients in the preparation of wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.  Mr. Overson also advises clients on business law and organizational matters, and has assisted numerous clients in the formation of limited liability companies and other Virginia business entities.


Prior to joining Moyes Hanssen Overson, PLLC in 2012, Mr. Overson practiced real estate law in Boston, Massachusetts for five years.  He graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2006, and from Boston College in 2003.  He currently lives in Leesburg, Virginia with his wife and daughter.
